The Foreign Minister of Estonia, mr Margus Tsahkna visited The Hague on 3–4 February, where he met with his Dutch counterpart Caspar Veldkamp to discuss bilateral relations, current security issues and support for Ukraine. During the meeting with Veldkamp, Tsahkna thanked the Netherlands for its contribution to the security of NATO’s eastern flank, including the air policing mission in Ämari and the Baltic Sentry operation in the Baltic Sea.
Tsahkna also met with Judge Tomoko Akane, President of the International Criminal Court (ICC), and Prosecutor Karim Khan, to discuss the court’s activities in combating impunity, which also includes the Russian crime of aggression committed in Ukraine. With Fernando Arias, Secretary-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the minister discussed the investigation launched into the use of chemical weapons in Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.
